Easy Iron On Patch Tips

Moritz Emblem easy Heat Seal Iron on emblem tips

Some customers have asked us to share with them how to achieve the best results when applying heat seal or 'iron on' emblems and patches to their garments. As we have both commercial and home based customers, we've created two very easy to follow guides.

Home Method for both "Heat Seal" & "Pressure Sensitive" Emblem Backings

Take your household iron and set it to the cotton or high heat temperature setting.

  1. Lay the garment down flat and place a common bath towel or pillow case over the area of the garment where the emblem is to be attached. Place your heated iron on the towel or pillow case and press down firmly for 8 seconds in order to heat up the area of the garment where the emblems is to be attached.
  2. Place your iron on patch on the pre-heated garment area and put your towel or pillow case on top of the emblem and then press down firmly with your iron for another 8 to 10 seconds.
  3. Remove the iron and towel or pillow case and place the garment aside and allow it to fully cool before handling it.

Commercial Method - regular "Heat Seal" Backing

  1. Heat garment emblem area to 350 - 400 degrees depending on garment type.
  2. Place your emblem in heated area on garment.
  3. Close your heat press at a temperature of 350 to 400 degrees with normal emblem to garment pressure for 8 to 10 seconds depending on the garment fabric type.
  4. Allow Emblem to cool normally on your garment and your emblem will be permanently applied.
